30 minute wait time during the lunch crowd period, ordered the largest portion at $10.The dish came with 4 decently-sized prawns and sotong/squid, but no pork belly so I was slightly disappointed. The pork lard was actually added with the noodles during the cooking phase itself, which was interesting. The mixture of noodles in this hokkien mee was thick bee hoon + yellow noodles.

First time trying this fried Hokkien mee after reading many positive reviews. I came after lunch hours and it was not so crowded. Waited for 10 minutes to get my plate of noodles. First impression was that it looked good and it did not disappoint when I took the first mouth. It had good wok hei and was flavourful. The chilli sauce was also very nice and blends into the noodle especially when you add the lime juice to it. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. Service is OK.

Many ppl have tried Chuan hkm. It seems like a legend now. We came over on an early evening with very quiet surrounding like the whole hawker belongs to us. We had 2 plates of hkm at $6 each including free packet drinks from uncle. We both thought it might be due to long waiting cause uncle just heat up his wok but we are wrong. It's due to his delicious potent chili. But no doubt, hkm is indeed very unami with strong wok hei. Dry version and it's very good. We will be back!!

Ho Ji remains easily in my top 10 favorite FHM. Its umami-rich prawn stock is spot on and the boss strike a great balance between yellow noodles and bee hoon. The pork belly is juicy, the pork lard perfectly crispy, and the prawns this time are especially succulent and fresh. As usual, the sambal belacan is too spicy for me, and the belacan flavor comes through a bit too strongly for my liking. Ang Mo Kio is home to many great FHM. This is hands down the best Hokkien Mee I've ever had! I've tried quite a few of the most famous ones on the east side, and this one truly stands out. Here's how I measure it: 1. Broth Flavor: The broth is absolutely divine—rich, savory, and perfectly balanced. 2. Belacan Chili: The chili is spot-on—just the right amount of heat with a delicious umami kick. Aunty is always on her game, but don't let that tough exterior fool you. She's a sweetheart, and her smile just brightens the whole place.
